tell your story in six words

(sorry, the title sounded like a promotional campaign.)

i recently discovered smithmag, a site that encourages its readers to share their personal stories by joining their story projects. recently, it challenges its readers to tell their stories in six words. the site has actually published a book, called Not Quite What I Was Planning, a memoir of sorts by famous and "obscure" writers who told their accounts in just six words.

accordingly, the project's inspiration is writer (ernest?) hemingway. legend has it that he was challenged to write a story using only six words. thus, the launch of the project.

it was interesting to read contribution in the book. one wrote "cursed with cancer, blessed with friends;" meanwhile, another said, "i still make coffee for two;" and still, one quoted, "i like big butts, can't lie." pretty interesting, aren't they? nice conversation starters. moreover, they can also be mind exercises (nerd me!!!).

so, after reading some of those quotes, i wracked my brain to produce this: "writer turned banker; letters, then, numbers." (pretty amateur eh.) i'm still squeezing my brain to produce creative juices.. that's it for now. you, can you tell your story in six words?

i want to have a library in my future house. thus, the need to add more books to read for this year (in no particular order).

wala akong magawa kaya magkekwento na lang ako

hindi uso sa 'min ang out of town pag holy week. kasi, out of town naman talaga ang location ng bahay namin. kaya pag ganitong panahon, wala masyadong ginagawa dito sa bahay. usually e magsisimba lang kami pag holy thursday at good friday. kung magkayayaang magswimming, swimming on a saturday. sun, simba ulit. tapos balik sa normal na buhay. napaka-exciting ng buhay ko.

ngayong taon, dapat may magbago. nagyaya akong mag-visita iglesia bukas. sana matuloy naman kami. sadness, di kami magkikita ng barkada ko kasi hectic ang mga schedule ng mga working girls. si dette, dahil sa ospital ang trabaho nya, ngayong thursday at sa sunday lang pwede. si lei, may work friday at saturday. si nica, april pa uuwi from manila. si ched at hazel at ako, free pero pano naman kami magsasaya kung kulang ang barkada? sa april na lang daw. swimming sila at ako ang dakilang bantay ng kanilang mga bag. saya. ang cute nila. :)

mukhang tatlong sudoku puzzle na naman ang maso-solve ko sa loob ng apat na oras. sayang, di ata inuwi ni joemar ung rubik's cube nya. mukhang genius si baby paglabas niya. walang pinagkakaabalahan si mommy kundi magbasa ng libro, mag-solve ng sudoku puzzles at buuin ang rubik's cube. one more book to read: john grisham's the broker. mukhang kelangan ko na ulit bumili ng mga bagong books.

hay.. dapat nasa singapore na ko ngayon. don kami dapat magho-holy week ni baby. kaya lang, ang cute kong asawa, pabigla-bigla ng desisyon, monday lang sinabi na gusto nya kong magpunta don. excited ako, pero hindi sa presyo ng eroplano. almost 37,000 round trip ticket via PAL. cute.

ang pabigla-bigla nyang desisyon e dahil don sa babaeng nakausap nya sa pub nong isang gabi na kilala daw ako. mahabang kwento. at sa halip na ako ang magalit sa kanya dahil nagpunta sya sa lugar na yon, sya ung masama ang loob sa kin. pero maayos na ang lahat matapos ang isang oras na kulitan namin sa telepono, alas3 ng madaling araw. ang cute nya.

anyway. mukhang wala nga akong magawa. wala talaga.

i'm 24

and soon to be a mom. (my due date's on july 15.)

last year, melvin and i were already thinking of getting married but we didn't have the courage to really talk with my parents about it. but things happened. good things.

it's almost two months after we got married. when friends ask me about married life, i just say "okay lang." because i don't really know how to describe the whole "thing." we were looking forward to this event ever since we got serious with our relationship. and when it came, i was just relieved that everything turned out the way we planned it to be. after? pretty much the way we expected it.

i live in three houses--the condo unit in manila, their house (while he's here) and our house (because he's in singapore right now.) while he was here, he would visit me in manila and then we would go home (their home) together. then the next day, i'd go to our haouse and stay there the whole day. haha. magulong set-up but i'm getting used to it. then, he left for singapore last sunday. just as i was beginning to feel at home in their house. so the set-up now, weekdays--condo. weekend--our house. visit--their house.

magulo no. but i'm pretty much okay with it. though it's not what i really want. i really want to be with him everyday of our lives. but because of my contract, it won't happen in the next 22 months. ang tagal naman kasing matapos ng bond ko with bpi. even if i already want out, di pwede. pwede pero i need to pay 200k. sayang naman yung pera. hmph. i already told melvin na after my contract, our baby and i will go with him na in singapore. no buts.
